National Teacher

Spring/Fall 2022

Twice a year the Carson Valley Quilt Guild hosts a nationally known quilt educator for a weekend workshop and a lecture at the following Monday night meeting.  Class fees are quite reasonable for both members and non-members of the guild. It’s a unique opportunity to learn new quilting techniques from experts, enhance skills, and share the love of quilting and creating.  The workshops and lectures are open to guild members and the public when space is available.  We’d love for you to join us! A new Workshop Policy is in place now, and those signing up for classes should read it carefully. You can download the pdf (below) to read at your leisure.

Once again the Guild will be hosting two nationally known teachers. In April we will have quilt artist Marjan Kluepfil, and in September Mel Beach will be our teacher. Marjan will be coming to our area to teach the class, and Mel will conduct her September class via Zoom.

Supply lists and registration forms are now available for the classes Marjan Kluepfil will be teaching: Saturday,  April 22, 2023 - Quilted Fabric Sculptures is a six hour class where you will learn to make flowers, vases, bowls, "whatever you can imagine" quilted shapes. Sunday, April 23, 2023 is a class where you can create your own original Landscape wall quilt. The sign up sheet and class supply lists are in dowloadable documents below. The documents also contain links to the National Speaker chairs and to Marjan's website where you will find more examples of her work.
